Elia Fernández

was born in Madrid in 1988. In 2008 she began her studies in a school of fashion design “Arte 2” in Madrid. She choose fashion style as a major. She learned the basics of fashion design, the history of fashion and the most relevant designers. After a year at this school she soon realized that that her true vocation was illustration, and she made a test for admission to the school of illustration and design Arte10, in Madrid. In 2009 she began her studies of illustration. For three years she learned the basics of illustration, ( drop the lines of the drawing, fundamentals of design, color, composition and communication elements, textures and techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, pastel, graphite, ink, gouache, bookbinding…etc.) as well as the illustration throughout the history, analogical photography and the process of designing a project.

Finally in 2012 she graduated with very good marks with her final project ‘Six illustrated realities’. The project was based on the extraction of elements of reality through photography and the mixing of those elements with other unrealistic rudiments through illustration techniques. When she  finished her studies in Madrid she moved to Den Haag, Nederland, where she live at present and where she work as a freelance illustrator for different companies, magazines and galleries in exhibitions or commissions.
