For her, it all started with one of those bumper packs of felt tips. One of her earliest memories is of tearing open Christmas wrapping paper to find a vivid array of coloured pens inside – then immediately rearranging the colours in a way that pleased her better. That was it; she was off on a voyage of creative discovery that continues to this day. She creates highly individual and visually appealing framed paper sculptures. Each piece combines intricate hand cut layers of coloured paper and strong graphic images arranged to make interesting and intriguing scenes in box frames.Inspiration comes from a multitude of influences in her daily life from both the natural and manmade world around her. Helen works from her studio on the edge of Manchester as a freelance artist and illustrator and exhibits her work across the UK.
