Jon Jacobsen

is a self-taught photographer from Chile with a degree in graphic design and multimedia communication. He started creating conceptual self-portraits at age fifteen in his hometown, Quintero, Chile. His work contains graphic, narrative images utilizing symbolism and the surreal through different digital techniques, such as photomanipulations, illustrations and cinemagraphs (Animated GIF images)

Jacobsen’s work has been featured prominently in Chile both in exhibits and publications. His project “La voz del puerto” presented his use of design and digital photography to create unique results, and was selected for the Fifth Biennial of Design in Santiago de Chile. At the same time, his work has been recognized since his early start from renowned national newspaper and magazines such as El Mercurio, La Tercera, Paula magazine, Caras magazine, JOIA, Ander Magazineand Para ti.
