is a self taught artist originally from the Vancouver, BC area. In her early twenties she spent a year in Japan, to explore her Japanese heritage and find her creative edge. Before paint was her main medium of artistic expression, Suite developed a taste for sculpting and hand crafted doll work. She eventually moved on to sketching, which lead the artist to the paint brush. She quickly gained notoriety in the art community through her use of non conventional canvas materials and visually striking female portrait work. Although a high percentage of her work is based around female subjects, this is not intentional. “Color is what most inspires me. When I see a certain shade, or colour combination, whether that be through textiles, flowers, nature or design, I use that as the inspirational building blocks for my pieces. Color is the subject, and not necessarily the model.”
